Team Leader, RCC Dam QA/QC

Key Responsibilities
- • Lead day-to-day QA/QC operations for RCC and CVC dam concreting
- • Monitor the full RCC placement cycle: aggregate production, batching, spreading, compaction, curing, joint treatment
- • Classify lift joints using maturity monitoring and ensure correct treatment protocols
- • Review material approvals, test reports, method statements, and inspection records
- • Prepare monthly quality and progress reports
- • Coordinate with international RCC dam experts
Requirements
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in RCC dam construction, with at least one completed or ongoing RCC dam project
- • Strong working knowledge of RCC mix design, placement methods, joint treatment, GEVR, and compaction QC
- • Experience with concrete testing (compressive strength, Vebe consistency, density, nuclear density gauge, core extraction)
- • Familiarity with ICOLD Bulletins (126, 177), ACI 207.5R, and IS/ASTM standards
Preferred
- • Experience on hydroelectric dam projects
- • Exposure to thermal control planning for mass concrete
- • Experience coordinating with international design consultants

QC Engineer, RCC Dam

Key Responsibilities
- • Monitor RCC and CVC placement operations including batching, spreading, compaction, and curing
- • Conduct concrete testing: Vebe consistency, compressive strength, density, nuclear density gauge readings
- • Monitor surface preparation and joint treatment for each RCC lift
- • Photograph and document every joint before RCC placement
- • Record joint classification, mortar application times, and placement times
- • Maintain organized quality records, test data, and non-conformance logs
Requirements
- • Minimum 3 years of experience in QA/QC on a hydropower or dam construction project, with exposure to RCC or mass concrete
- • Hands-on experience with concrete testing procedures (cube/cylinder casting, slump/Vebe, density, core testing)
- • Working knowledge of IS/BIS codes, ACI, and ASTM standards for concrete construction
- • Strong documentation skills and willingness to work on a remote site with shift-based coverage
Preferred
- • Direct experience on an RCC dam project
- • Familiarity with ICOLD Bulletins related to RCC (126, 177)
- • Experience with nuclear density gauge operation
- • Knowledge of bedding mortar mix design and application
